Far South Itinerary

Far South Itinerary

Suggested period: from April until June, according to positive weather conditions.

Starting from Port Sudan and sailing 30 miles south you reach Jumna , a triangular reef in the middle of the sea that sinks into the blue from the surface. The eastern side is famous for the sighting of large swirls of barracudas, silk sharks and large swarms of hammerhead sharks; at 30 meters then, on the southeast side, there is a cave, a resting place for the white fin pups. 9 miles from here is the Sha'ab Ambar lagoon, safe anchorage for the night, with two beautiful dives on the North and South sides.

Continuing the navigation you will arrive at one of the few reefs in the South that has a sandy island inside, called the "turtle island" . We are talking about Seil’Ada Kebir which offers us two diving points (north and south side) characterized by the presence of large fans of gorgonians.

Going further down, in a south-easterly direction, you will find Keary Reef , a rocky column that from the depths reaches the surface of the sea. Another wonderful dive is the Nakhalat al Qaseer (the Pinnacle) Reef that rises from the depths and touches the surface; this site offers walls completely covered with multicolored corals, full of caves and ravines, with passage of big step and sedentary fish.

Then there are Protector Reef and Preserver Reef , two sites practically unexplored and very far in the deep South of Sudan. An unprecedented itinerary in very uncrowded but very interesting and very well preserved sites, far from the usual dive sites and dedicated to those who, still today, want to feel conquered by discovering unusual and wild places.
